Esmile privacy policy
What Esmile keeps, why, and how you stay in control.
Last updated: 2026-10-10
1. Who we are
Esmile is the social app of ESO: posts, stories, reels, comments and private messages. It is available at esmile.dpdns.org and inside ESO OS, and it is run by the ESO team (Algeria). You sign in only with your ESO account, the same account as ESO OS, ESmail and Cosmos. Privacy questions: support@esoos.dpdns.org.
2. Summary
We keep only what Esmile needs to work: your account and what you choose to post or send.
No ads, no analytics, no tracking scripts, and we never sell or share your data with advertisers.
You can delete your account, and everything in it, at any time from your ESO Account Center on ESmail.
3. Your account
Username (your address is username@esoos.dpdns.org), display name, password stored only as a salted PBKDF2 hash, and optionally a photo, a bio, a name colour and your language.
If you use "Continue with Google" we receive your Google account ID, name and email address only after you agree on Google's screen. We keep the Google ID and a one-way hash of the email address, never the address itself. Esmile's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. Feed, profiles and messages
Posts, photos, videos, stories, comments, likes, follows and saved posts are stored so Esmile can show them. Who can see them depends on your settings: public posts and your public profile can be seen by anyone; a private account is seen only by approved followers.
Direct messages are visible only to the people in the conversation. Ghost mode hides your online status and read receipts; when it is on we do not show other people when you were last active.
5. Cookies and devices
We use two cookies: eso_s keeps you signed in (HttpOnly, Secure) and eso_in tells the page that you are signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.
The Esmile apps keep the same sign-in cookie in a private file on your device. Your IP address is used for a short time to limit abuse (for example too many sign-in attempts) and is not stored with your posts.
6. Who processes the data
Esmile runs on Cloudflare (hosting, storage, email routing), which processes data on our behalf. Google processes your sign-in only if you choose Google. We do not share your data with anyone else unless the law requires it.
7. Keeping and deleting
Your data stays while your account exists. Deleted posts, stories and messages are removed from the service. When you delete your account we delete your profile, mailbox, posts, stories, messages, follows and Cosmos library; public chat messages are blanked.
You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it, by writing to support@esoos.dpdns.org.
8. Children
Esmile is not meant for children under 13. If you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will remove it.
9. Changes
If this policy changes we update this page and the date above, and announce important changes in Esmile.
